Michael, a Brooklyn, NY native, is a proud graduate of Msgr Farrell High School in Staten Island, NY and moved on to his BS in Accounting from St. John’s University. Having worked at several prominent CPA firms in NYC, NJ, and PA, he has gained over 15 years of experience in public accounting. In 2015, Michael founded MVA Tax & Advisors LLC and in 2024 partnered with HGF PC and brought them under the MVA umbrella. His extensive industry experience spans construction, food and beverage, professional services, real estate, manufacturing, and mortgage banking.

Beyond his professional commitments, Michael is a devoted husband and the proud father of three boys. When not engrossed in work, you’ll find him savoring precious family moments, coaching at baseball fields, cooking, DJing or attempting to refine his golf skills. Serving as the Treasurer for the Quakertown Youth Baseball Association (QYBA), he actively contributes to his community.

Phillip, with 11 years of tax and accounting experience, is a proud member of the National Association of Tax Professionals. His expertise in public accounting encompasses a comprehensive understanding of accounting and taxation for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and non-profit organizations. Phillip earned his B.S. in Accounting from DeSales University in 2014 and furthered his credentials by becoming an Enrolled Agent in 2015. His commitment to staying abreast of industry developments and his skill set make him a valuable professional in the field of tax and accounting.

With a rich background in education, she has served in various capacities, demonstrating versatility as a program manager, grant manager, mentor, and department leader. Known for meticulous organizational skills, Cathy ensures efficient and effective operations. Her dedication to excellence and seamless integration of accuracy make her an essential contributor to our accounting team. Beyond work, Cathy values family time, enjoys kayaking, and has a passion for travel. Her diverse skills and commitment align perfectly with our firm’s success.

Rocco, is a recent graduate of Temple University’s Fox School of Business with a focus in Accounting, he is currently working towards becoming a Certified Public Accountant. With a solid academic background, he is passionate about financial excellence. Eager to apply theoretical knowledge, Rocco is dedicated to delivering quality audit and tax services. His academic journey has provided a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and taxation. Outside of work, Rocco enjoys outdoor activities, especially golf, and values time with friends and family.

As Director of Operations at MVA Tax and Advisors LLC, Mike Johnston drives the firm’s operational excellence by overseeing all facets of business processes, from strategic planning to compliance. With a keen focus on efficiency, he has developed comprehensive process maps and procedures, ensuring seamless operations. Mike spearheads long-term operational strategies, mentors a high-performing team, and manages financial reporting, client onboarding, and technology systems, all while prioritizing exceptional client experiences through streamlined service delivery.

A proud alumnus of Garrett College, where he played baseball and was recently inducted into the Garret College Athletics Hall of Fame, Mike also enjoyed a distinguished 10-year professional baseball career, including time in Major League Baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates. His leadership, discipline, and commitment to excellence both on and off the field continue to shape MVA Tax and Advisors’ success.

Milton Mohidur

Milton is a skilled Senior Accountant with over 10 years of experience in delivering compliance and strategic tax solutions for global corporations. His career includes leadership roles at B. Braun Medical Inc., Curtiss Wright, Lutron Electronics, Phillips 66, and Walmart.

A Certified Public Accountant (NY), Milton possesses in-depth expertise in both individual and corporate income taxation, with a proven track record of implementing process improvements and ensuring regulatory compliance. He holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Business Management & Finance from Brooklyn College, CUNY.
